Ayurveda is known all over the world through it’s unique therapy technique termed as ‘Panchakarma’; a major part of Ayurvedic treatment. In the modern world everyone has to face pollutions of air, water etc., side effects of hybrid grains, fast food with preservatives, fruits & vegetables grown with chemical fertilizers as unavoidable part of living. Hence regular cleansing of body systems becomes imperative for prevention as well as for cure. Panchakarma includes five distinctive therapies viz. Vaman [induced emesis], Virechan [induced purgation], Basti [enema], Nasya [nasal medication] and Raktmokshan [blood-letting]. Panchakarma unit is developed in hospital where students get direct experience of Panchakarma procedures. The department is also engaged in UG training.
